The once conservative and sedate nature of Civil Registration practices no longer exists.
The Civil Registration office continues to be an integral part of the social fabric of a community. Increasingly, however, they are expected to play a crucial role in assisting with tightening identity, security and policing policies.
The information collected by Civil Registries is of immense value to epidemiologists, demographers and statisticians, giving them another piece of the increasingly complex social puzzle.
Civil Registries are expected to manage increasing pressures, whilst having to maintain (often mis-understood) traditional and proven Registration practices.
Established registries may be facing challenges with decreasing budgets; Emerging Registries are often facing rapid learning curves and integration of technologies into under-resourced environments.
Whatever the situation, it is unanimously accepted that the role of Civil Registries is very important and that Government’s must uphold the right of all persons to have their life events accurately registered in a timely fashion. At Life.Registered, we only concentrate on Civil registration. With over 25 years of experience, we have learnt a lot.
